About the Creature Detective

Welcome, Young Keeper. we’ve been expecting you.

Allow me to introduce myself properly.
I am Dr. Pat McAllister, Head Keeper of the Society of reatureKeepers (S.O.C.K), and long-time investigator of all things unusual, magical, and largely invisible to the ordinary eye.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the strange and wonderful beings who share this world with us. While most people rush about their days without noticing the glimmer of a fairy wing or the soft footprints of a brownie in the mud, my job is to notice. To ask questions. To investigate. And to share what I discover with the next generation of brave and curious explorers.

That’s where you come in.

Through The Creature Detective Podcast, my granddaughter Darcy and I share stories, interviews, and important findings from our travels into the unknown — dragons, fairies, mermaids, tree spirits, and other mythical beasts who aren’t nearly as mythical as grown-ups might like to believe.

But listening is only the beginning.

Who Are the Creaturekeepers?

Creaturekeepers are a group of children and grandparents who protect the worlds magic .
They are curious, kind-hearted, and a little bit brave. They know how to look closely, listen deeply, and wonder aloud. They believe in possibilities. They believe that nature is alive with secrets.

A Keeper’s job is simple:
👣 Protect the wild unseen.
🌸 Tend to the natural magic of the world.
📚 Learn the lore and pass it on.

Through our Field Guides, and Training Adventure Packs, Keepers gain the knowledge, tools, and stories they need to walk the path of wonder — whether searching for fairy circles in their local woods or creating potions at the kitchen table.

Why Does This Matter?

In a world full of screens and rush and noise, children deserve time to wonder.
Time to imagine.
Time to believe in something more than what they can see.

Stories like these aren’t just for fun (although they are certainly that). They help children grow into curious, compassionate, and connected people — protectors of our planet, champions of imagination, and guardians of small, unseen things.

Magic is real. Wonder is necessary. And adventure is waiting, just beyond the next hedgerow.
